He was the nominal ruler controlled by Hōjō clan regents. He was the father of his successor, Prince Morikuni.
Prince Hisaaki was the son of Emperor Go-Fukakusa and the younger half-brother of Emperor Fushimi.[Titsingh, Isaac. (1834). ]
